Friday dad picked up the kids at diny (our daycare mother) and mom was out with Ingmar and her parents (shopping ofcourse). Saturday we went to Pukkemuk where grandpa and grandma from the Lier reserved a spot for us. Pukkemuk is a sort of farm where kids can play in and outside, there are animals lying around the playground and inside there is a great maze made of construction material cushioned so kids won't hurt themselves when they fall. Martin and Judith and their kids were there as well. At around noon dad went away to help Jaap with installing electrics in the rooms in the attick Jaap was building. In the afternoon we went to our neighbour Monique who celebrated her 4#th birthday (for relational purposes the age is not disclosed). Her parents, brother and some friends were there and we had a nice "seeing again" with them. Monique even had a chocolat founatin which had a mysterious kind of attraction to Nils.. Sunday we slept late, partly because of the clokck goin back one hour and mostly because we were just tired.. After a nice breakfast we went to Woerden to see Maaike and Jaap and the kids again and dad had some more work to do with the electrics. We made a lot of progress and Maaike, Lisette and all the kids went outside to the school's playground were they had a lot of fun.

Swimming lesson Nils and a nice quiche (by a beautiful woman)
Dad went with Nils to his weekly swimming lesson. At the end of the lesson the kids were allowed to the deeper pool. They all assembled at the edge of the pool and the teacher explained what they had to do for exercise. Nils however, could not wait anymore and jumped in.. A shocked teacher quickly intervened but Nils was okay, floating with his boyancy toy. Dad saw it all from a distance and felt quite proud actually.. At home mom prepared a very nice quiche made of peppers red and yellow. We enjoyed that quiche very much. Nils surprised us with writing on the blackboard in his room, he wrote the numbers 1 to 11 all by memory! Furthermore he drew a couple of rockets one of which without the legs sticking out.

A weekend break in Weert
This weekend we went to a retirement place for tired parents. In other words a place with little houses you can rent in the woods were they installed lots of things for kids. We arrived friday afternoon and stayed until monday morning. We went swimming and walked in the woods were we found a couple of very nice mushrooms. There was also some kind of running contest through the woods because sometimes we saw someone jumping from behinds the bushes with a compass in one hand and a map in the other, a second or two, the figure seem to be studying the map and then disappeared again in the woods.. Dad also happens to see a big guy being thrown off a horse.. and then pretend nothing happened.

A family dinner with friends
This saturday we went to see Danne and her parents in Duiven which is about 1 hour drive away from our home. And because we found out we were close to where my brother lives and has his own restaurant, we went there to have dinner! The dinner was great but it was exceptionally great to see my brother again and especially to see my cousin Nikki who I saw last time approx. 7 years ago.. Far too long. Anyway, seeing Danne, Leonie and Marc was great although I feel a bit guilty for talking to my family most of the time during the dinner and I wish a had more time for friends as well as the family.. The dinner was excellent and if you're near Zeddam (and hungry) pay a visit to this restaurant called "Bij kobus", they really have the best spare ribs and you can even take them home for your BBQ.

Flip the bear
We had a bear staying over this weekend. Flip the bear is a school tv figure and every kid gets to have him staying over for a weekend. Complete with suitcase, pyama, toothbrush, diary and his own cuddly toy. Nils was so proud, Flip was at the table, in bed, at the campsite where grandpa an grandma were staying.. We took a couple of pictures to print and put in Flip's diary and Lisette wrote all the adventures in it. Friday night we made some music together wit Flip and Saturday we went to Waalwijk to buy new shoes for Wende and after that we went to the campsite in Kaatsheuvel where grandma and grandpa from de Lier were staying. Nils and Wende played in the caravan, which is always a big attraction and Nils played table soccer with granddad. Sunday was a slow day, Nils and Wende played inside most of the day and in the afternoon we went for a walk through Andel, checking out a couple of playgrounds which the councel recently had renewed. Normally dad would update the weblog on a sunday night but due to a viscious cold, dad retired early sunday night.
