Wende, Nils and Ingmar's Blog

Friday afternoon Nils got to cook a dinner together with other kids of the child day care center. It was all arranged by a couple of the day care ladies. Aroud 6 pm dad joined Nils and had dinner together with Nils and other parents with their kids. It was a simple but nice dinner although the day care ladies did not expect so many parents to show up.. Now, for valentines day..Dad is not good in making up ideas for presents, so this year he bought 9 valentine cards en had his colleguages write Lisette's adress on the envelopes. Just to make sure she would not recognize the handwriting.. So Saturday all nine cards arrived in the mail and it took lisette 3 of them to find out it was all from me.. (I'm a bad lier).. So to make up for this, sunday morning Nils and Wende helped dad to make a valentine's day breakfast for mom. We had delicious self made croissoints and fresh orange juice. Nils, Wende and Ingmar also gave mom a couple of nice red roses and dad bought a cd (Caro Emerald). After that we continued our breakfast downstairs and mom had bought some delicous chocolats for dad!! (one of dads favorite things in life, chocolat) After breakfast we hurried up to make sandwiches and prepared for the treat we had in mind for the kids (Dolfinarium) We kept it a secret but Nils found out when we got out of the car and he saw the the flags with dolphins on them.. We saw a brand new show with lots of exciting things such as fairy tales and ofcourse a bad guy.. The dolphins saved the show and Nils and Wende loved it so much they huddled close together and Wende even put her arm around Nils...Aaaaaah. So cute.

My saxophone teacher Edward Capel is a member of a band called VLEK and by coincidence, my jazz workshop leader Jeroen Doomernik is also playing in this band. They were to perform in the Verkade fabriek last wednesday after I finished my saxophone lesson in Den Bosch. So I joined Edward and went to see them playing. Unfortunately you will probably be shocked by the sound when you play the video but in truth it was a great sound! It was not like any other "regular" music piece but every band member (almost everyone that is..) composed a piece they played. I hope I understood it correctly but one of the gitar players presented a "song" called replicants and it was about the question if aliens dream about electric sheep... (??) Very vague and no, there were no drugs involved. But when they played and that information in mind you could actually use your imagimation to make some sense of it. I liked it there and then but I am not sure if I could listen to it from a cd. Just wish I could play as good and easylooking as they are..
